Oral Appliance Therapy can help you.  A small appliance similar to a mouth guard gently moves the lower jaw forward repositioning the tongue and other soft tissue opening the airway.  This treatment is covered by Medicare as well as most other Health Insurances.

What is an oral appliance?

It is a custom designed and fitted appliance which covers a portion of the upper and lower teeth or implants which gently positions the jaw in a manner to maintain an open airway.  As this is treating a medical condition these are medical devices and must be fabricated at an approved FDA lab. Medicare requires additional lab certification.  Like many medical devices these are covered through most health insurances including Medicare.  We work with your physician or sleep specialist to provide you with the ideal Oral Appliance.

Do Oral Appliances Work?

Yes!  While we can not guarantee any medical treatment the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) recommends oral appliances.  What is the AASM?  The AASM is the organization which board certifies your sleep physician and credentials hospitals, educational facilities, and sleep centers.

After we fabricate and deliver the appliance we follow our patients and adjust their appliance to optimum effect.  We conduct validation tests to confirm effectiveness.  Once your appliance is fully adjusted we send a report to your Sleep Physician who will then follow up on your progress.
